The Right Call
๐ฟโจ Christmas skiing traditions are the best! ๐ After unwrapping presents and savoring some bacon, maybe a mimosa or two, by lunch, it's time for the great outdoors! ๐โ๏ธ While we missed skiing on Christmas, it was absolutely the right call. Walking my dogs in just a button-down shirt on Christmas Day made me dream of perfect weather for our upcoming Pond Skim! ๐ฅ๏ธ 50 and cloudy? Count me in, especially after the 30s and drizzle from the past two seasons! ๐ง๏ธ
All jokes aside, by keeping off the snow those two days, we preserved the rain we received overnight on Christmas. I hit the slopes this morning, and I must say, our grooming team is unparalleled in the Midwest. ๐ They worked their magic, getting us skiing and riding on a whopping 15 trails today! The skiing is beyond awesome, and you don't have to take just my word for itโcheck out some of the rave comments from our delighted guests: ๐คฉ

Expanding to Cupid
Another decision we made was to leave the snow we made in the East alone thru the Christmas Holiday. This again was the right call by our operations team. Think of a school of fish being attacked by a shark. They school together so that a majority of them stay a float. The same can be thought of for our snowflakes. By keeping them close together they insulate themselves. Pushing out the snow simply creates more surface for the melting possibilities and by keeping the snow in piles and waiting to push these trails out it will allow us to open Cupid for the rest of the season!
It certainly is going to be thin in spots, and not necessarily treeline to treeline but it will be skiable for experts only. Carver, Superstition and Whitewolf will all be open with connecting trails Cottonwood & Stonebridge the way to get over there from the top of Blitzen. To get back we'll have a connection to Mystery through Wedgewood. Green is what is open & Blue is what we intend to open on 12/27/23.

Happy Holidays
Some of you might have the week of January 1st off as well and that week is shaping up nice as well. Snowmaking should be firing back up at the tail end of 2023 with plans to refresh our current terrain while we push to expand both East and West. There is plenty of fun slated for the 2024 including our first Grom Jam of the year on the 7th, the Adult Race League and the start of our Wisconsin Wednesdays on January 3rd. A fun night for all looking to get out on the slopes at a discount.
