Snowmaking Feasting on Cold Temps!
While you were home or with family enjoying turkey, football and maybe some Black Friday shopping our teams were busy at snowmaking whale producing. Those poor boys didn't last too long as our grooming team was just as eager as the rest of the operations to get going and demolished many of them. It's been so cold that we could do this much more aggressively this season. Teens has helped our snow stay super "dry" or less water within the snowflakes we're dropping. Typically we would allow the snow to drain a bit before touching it but maybe Mother Nature felt bad for dropping that 60 degree weather the week before our opening day plans. It's ok Ma Nature - lets just keep the temps in a happy snowmaking place please!
What's going to be open?
We've been going hard and fast 24-7 since the night before Thanksgiving. The little snow we picked up was nice to make it more winterlike across Wisconsin but honestly that just slowed us down! Here's the projected terrain for opening day:
TRAILS: Summit Trail, Sundance, Exhibition, Meadow, Hot Cocoa, Aspen
LIFTS: Comet 6, Blitzen 3, & Blizzard Carpet
TERRAIN PARK? YOU BETCHA. Aspen will have features! The amount TBD but we have a good amount of snow and terrain will be dedicated for spins, slides, and yes even jumps. More on this later in the week.
Season Passes
If you have not received your season pass chances are there is something missing with your pass, aka waiver not signed, photo, or your a college student or military personnel and we need to validate ID.
Passes have been and continue to be printed but unless you reach out and ask us to mail them we will not do so past today so they are not in the mail in case you are coming over here and they pass on the route!
Thank You.
Just a note to say thank you for your patience while we worked through Mother Nature. We received a ton of great support prior to our originally planned opening date. Our team works hard to hit all our goals but that one was just not feasible. Nobody was open until just a few days ago in the Midwest but it looks like plenty are in the process of getting open which is awesome. Sister resorts Lutsen Mountains in Minnesota, and Snowriver Mountain Resort in the Upper Peninsula are also slated to open this weekend stay tuned to their channels and websites for more info.
Keep in mind that all three of us will be closed midweek while we continue to refine our early season terrain and expand Mother Nature willing. Keep doing those snow dances it certainly is working! Here's to 6-degree low temperatures tonight!
Happy Holidays & Happy Opening Day Announcement.
Can't wait to see you all back here!
