OPERATION BIRTHDAY WISH IS UNDERWAY!
Two Holidays / Two Sides of the Mercury!
🌬️❄️ Unbelievable weather rollercoaster in just 20 days! 🎢 Christmas Day at a record of 50 degrees, and now MLK Jr. Day at -1! 😱 Crazy, right? Last MLK was a soggy 34 degrees—talk about miserable. So, are we winning? Oh, absolutely! And the real champs? Our incredible snowmaking team! 🌨️💪
This week, we're on a mission to make up for lost ground after the mildest December on record in Wausau. Changes are afoot in our operation to ensure the safety of our stellar staff and amazing guests as we transform our area into a winter wonderland! ⛷️🏂 Let's keep the snowy vibes coming and embrace the magic in every flake! ❄️🤩 #WeatherWhirlwind #SnowMasters #WinterWins 🌨️❄️
MONDAY & TUESDAY 10A-5P ONLY
NIGHT OPERATIONS: Please note that we will only operate during the day 10am - 5pm on Monday and Tuesday due to the extreme cold. All is not lost though as we are taking adavantage of this cold snap to bolster up our trails and trail count! Infinity got a snowy makeover in just 24 hours, making it a winter wonderland. On the map you can see where we are at right now in PINK.
Due to the snowmaking and cold temps that will be in the region Dasher in the West will take a little break on Monday and Tuesday.White Lightning & Upper Timberwolf to Sweet Return will still be your go-to slopes. 🏔️ Expect Dasher and the fresh terrain to hit the scene on Wednesday.
Back to Exhibition, Aspen, Upper & Lower Duskey
Tuesday & Wednesday, we're shifting our snowmaking wizardry from the West to the middle of our ski paradise! Our snow warriors are boosting depths and bringing the magic to areas in need highlighted in Yellow. Exhibition, Sky High, Upper Duskey, Lower Duskey, and Aspen.
Due to our snowmaking extravaganza and the chilly vibes, we're giving a nod to flexibility. The Adult Race League on Wednesday night is taking a chill pill, giving our snowmakers the stage to wrap up their snowy masterpiece. Aspen and Sky High might take a short breather too, but worry not, they'll be back in action by the end of the week.
East Closed Thursday & Friday
❄️ Thursday and Friday, Cupid and trails east of Mystery are taking a brief siesta as we fortify base depths in the lower trails—and snowmaking at the top of Blitzen, covering the Chutes, Carmie's & Woodspur. Dasher will be back open by then giving you access to all the fresh snow and trails out West during the day.
Saturday - Monday in the Far East
❄️ We're cranking up the snow machines on Idlewild, Shadowridge, Mission Ridge, Sidewinder, Overlook, and Wildwood (ORANGE).
Now, a friendly reminder to all our adventurous guests: While we're weaving our snowy spells, some areas of the trees might still have limited depths🌳! 🎉🏂 Operation Birthday in full swing! 🏂🎉 A massive shoutout to our Mountain Operations Director Rodney—who is celebrating his birthday today! A die hard Packer's fan & season ticket holder we hope the Green & Gold pull out a victory today for our boy. Happy Birthday, Rod! 🎂🥳 And my birthday is 10 days away hence the name Operation Birthday. We're aiming for 95-100% open goodness by the 24th of January! 🏔️⛷️ Complete rebuilds of parks and the exciting addition of mogul terrain are in the works. 🚀
