THANK YOU FOR AN AMAZING WINTER | WE ARE NOW CLOSED FOR SKIING & RIDING

SPRING EVENTS & OPERATIONS UPDATE!

Time for Events

Feb 22, 2024

Spring at Granite Peak is full of fun spectator and special events!  Check out all the fun happening just about every weekend at Granite Peak this spring.  Keep reading for a full rundown of the events as well as amazing spring skiing and riding at your home for the longest ski season in Wisconsin!

As we enter the spring and days are longer with plenty of sun (we hope) we'll also be changing up our operations a little bit as we get deeper and deeper into Spring.

CHALET OPERATIONS
Starting on Monday, February 26th the Historic Chalet will be open daily and Sundance will be closed Monday - Friday.
Historic will offer up a new menu with a full offering during the day until 4pm with a special pizza and appetizer menu offered 4pm to close daily.  Sundance will be open on Saturday and Sundays only through March 17th and then will close for the season.  Historic will also have 16" pizzas available with drink service available out of the snack shack on weekends.

LIFT OPERATIONS
Starting the week of March 11th we will also have some changes to our lift operations as crowds are light and there will be plenty of terrain to go around. Monday's Dasher & the West will be closed from Upper Timberwolf west.  Tuesday & Thursdays the East will be closed.  All trails will be open Wednesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday.

Note: We are evaluating anticipated skier visits for the week of March 25th - SCHOOL SPRING BREAK WEEK - before we make any adjustments. Always a chance that some trails may close due to snow depth but we are confident that all areas will be skiing into April.

DEMO DAY

DEMO DAY

Demo Day is back! Our friends at Shepherd and Schaller once again are working with us to bring in manufacturers to try out the latest skis and a few snowboards for the following season. Participating ski & board manufacturers will be in the base area.  Those wishing to participate must sign a waiver, a credit card on file as well as a $10 donation that goes to the Granite Peak Ski Team.  Available 10am - 3pm.  All equipment must be returned by 3:00pm.

Passholder Appreciation Day

Pond Skim

Pond Skimming & Spring Concert

Our annual pond skim is back on March 30, 2024.  Competitors will take to the pond in this fun spring event just about every ski resort across the country does in spring.  Our pond will be once again built at the bottom of Aspen for easy spectator viewing and those wishing to participate must be dressed in costume.  Any one who makes it across the pond will be judged on form and costume / character for a chance at a 2024/2025 season pass!

Upon the conclusion the Brad Emanuel Band will be hitting the stage outside for a special spring concert featuring our season long après musician along with some of his friends!

Five hundred Easter Eggs were hidden across Granite Peak in their annual Easter Egg Hunt

Easter Egg Hunt

Over 500 Easter Eggs filled with stickers, candy, and prizes will be scattered across Granite Peak on Easter.  Kids will have the opportunity to grab as many as they can as eggs will be hidden on green, blue and throughout the base area by our special "Easter Bunnies" - the Granite Peak Ski Patrol!

The annual Cardboard Cup is Granite Peak's Final Event of the Season!

The Cardboard Cup

One of the best spectator events of the season will conclude our calendar on Saturday April 6th 2024.  Participants are tasked with creating sleds built out of cardboard, duct tape, zip ties and pieces of flare in a dual head to head drag race.  This Year's Theme:  PLANES TRAINS AND AUTOMOBILES.  Sleds should be designed with these themes in mind! Annually those who win various categories walk away with bags of Granite Peak Prizes along with custom trophies made out of what else - CARDBOARD & DUCT TAPE!

PLENTY OF FUN STILL AHEAD!

As you can see even though this winter wasn't very snowy (it's not over yet either), we have plenty of snow and events to wrap up what still has been a very fun winter here at Granite Peak.  Our slated closing date is Sunday, April 7th and we are confident our snow and most of our trails will still be there on that date.  On April 7th we will close at 5pm so that we can celebrate our season with our staff and their families.

I hope to see you out on the slopes this spring!
